Find answers to the most common questions about our open access & captive solar solutions.
Under India's Electricity Rules, 2005, a captive generating plant generally requires at least 26% ownership by captive users and at least 51% of annual electricity generation to be consumed for captive use, subject to the applicable rules and interpretation.
Eligibility depends on the applicable Green Energy Open Access regulations, state rules and relevant amendments. The general central framework provides for consumers with a contracted demand or sanctioned load of 100 kW or more, subject to specified provisions and conditions.
Charges may include transmission and wheeling charges, cross-subsidy surcharge, additional surcharge, banking charges and other applicable fees. The actual charges depend on the state, project structure, consumer category and prevailing regulations.
The timeline depends on project capacity, site selection, connectivity, approvals, regulatory procedures and power procurement arrangements. A detailed assessment is needed to estimate the implementation schedule.
